Customer discovery for solo founders
Build the version your customers will actually buy.
Describe your idea. Hypothis turns it into testable hypotheses, runs research with real customers, and shows you what to build, who it's for, and how to sell it. Real customers, not AI guesses.
Rough is fine. I’ll ask a few sharp questions, then frame the hypotheses worth testing with real customers.

Why founders do this
The research is the easy part. What it changes is the point.
Most products don't fail because they were built badly. They fail because they were built for a customer, a problem, or a price nobody checked. A few weeks with real customers shows you the version worth building.
Build the right first version
You hear the problem in the customer's own words, so you build for a pain people already feel instead of one you assumed.
Know they'll pay
Willingness to pay stops being the thing you find out the hard way, months after launch.
Market in their language
The words customers use for the problem become your landing page, your pitch, your ads. Good copy starts as good listening.
Know who it's for
You find the people who lean in, and the ones who never will, before you spend a launch on the wrong crowd.
Decide with conviction
Build it, change it, or stop it, without the quiet doubt that drags on every call when you're guessing.
Change course early
Finding the wrong customer or the wrong price costs a weekend now. Finding it after launch costs the year.
How it works
From a rough idea to the right version, in four steps.
- 01
Describe your idea
Tell Hypothis what you're thinking about building, in your own words. No forms, no frameworks to learn first.
- 02
AI sharpens it into hypotheses
Your idea becomes 3–5 falsifiable assumptions across problem, willingness-to-pay, behavior, solution-fit, and market — each one specific enough to test with real customers.
- 03
Run a research round
Hypothis builds the research instrument — screeners to keep the wrong respondents out, Mom-Test-disciplined questions, adaptive AI follow-ups — and you send it to real people.
- 04
Know what to build next
Each hypothesis is scored confirmed, weakened, or inconclusive from the responses you collected. They roll up into one honest read (Build it, Keep testing, Refine, or Weak demand) and a recommended next step.
Frame
Sharpen your hypotheses
Turn a vague idea into 3–5 falsifiable assumptions. Every question is built to test one of them, with no soft validation.
Ask
Interview at scale
Mom-Test-disciplined questions, screeners that keep the wrong respondents out, and adaptive AI follow-ups that dig deeper in the moment.
Decide
Know what to build next
Each hypothesis scored confirmed, weakened, or inconclusive, with a clear next step on every result, including an honest read when demand is weak.
AI idea validators vs real customer research
| AI-only validators | Hypothis | DIY surveys + spreadsheets | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data source | LLM guesses | Real customers | Real customers |
| Rigor | Fake rigor | Hypotheses, screeners, verdicts | Whatever you know |
| Effort | 2 minutes, low trust | A weekend, real answers | Weeks |
The payoff
Four honest verdicts, each with a next step.
Demand is real. Go build it.
Promising, not proven yet. Run another round.
The need is real, the shape is wrong. Adjust and retest.
Not for this version. The evidence shows what to test next, or when to stop.
Questions founders ask first
Is Hypothis real customer research, or is the AI making it up?
The AI designs the instrument — the hypotheses, screeners, and questions — but every response comes from real people you recruit and send the study to. Hypothis never fabricates respondents or answers. That distinction is the whole point: an AI can sound confident about a market it has never talked to.
What if the verdict says demand is weak?
Then it says so plainly, and tells you what to try next. A 'weak demand' read usually means this version missed, not the whole idea: the evidence often points to a narrower customer, an adjacent problem, or a different offer worth testing. Sometimes it says stop, and an early stop is months of building you get back. Either way, we don't soften or bury it.
Do I need research experience to use this?
No. Hypothis is built for founders with no research background — it handles study design, screening, and Mom-Test-disciplined question writing so you don't have to know the method to benefit from it.
